If you’ve ever been to a PRISM meeting, observed a STEP team practice, or attended a StuACTS event, you would most likely see Aster Conway-Reppert ’26 at the center of it all, leading the meetings with confidence. These three activities aren’t all that Aster does, though. In fact, she is a Shultz Fellow, Class Officer, and tour guide as well as a leader of various clubs and groups on campus such as the Sister Circle, Model UN, Financial Literary Board, Young Democrats, and Varsity Track and Field. Although Aster has a packed schedule, she never fails to balance her life and live up to her motto of “Work hard, Play hard”.
Aster’s leadership started early in her Loomis Chaffee career. “Freshman year, I really tried to join any clubs I wanted and try new things out. Everything was new, but I decided to enjoy the novelty of it and try to find what I love,” she said.
Being the Head Delegate for Model UN provides space for Aster to learn and have fun at the same time. She finds her passions and interests in various ways, managing meetings and workshops while commenting on her love for collaborating with members and learning about current events.
“I have the responsibility of getting more people involved,” Aster commented. “I have always appreciated the culture of openness within the Loomis community, because these clubs really give me an opportunity to network and meet new people. And of course, I love to recruit new people to try what I love to do!”
With this being her last year on the Island, Aster also gave a piece of advice to the next generation of Loomis students. “Just try anything and everything,” she noted. “I sometimes regret that I didn’t try certain things, and I really wish the students who still have time at Loomis don’t make the same mistake as I did.”
Aster’s legacy within the community can be felt by many students. From PRISM events to STEP team performances, her presence is prevalent through the different hats she wears on campus. “I really hope to be a senior that people remember for doing a lot for the community. Most importantly, I want to have fun this year. But, I hope to do this while creating an environment and community where learning and having fun coexist!”
