The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team edged Choate Rosemary Hall 8–7 on Wednesday, May 21, to secure the 2025 Founders League championship and close the books on a 16‑1 season that now stands as the most successful in program history.
One week after locking up the West I crown, Loomis met Choate for the second time this season. The final was a tense, one‑goal affair throughout, with neither side able to create more than a two‑goal cushion. A composed fourth‑quarter defensive stand preserved the Pelicans’ late advantage and touched off a jubilant celebration on the Upper Turf.
The victory completes a spring in which Loomis outscored opponents 259‑117 and posted double‑digit wins in 12 of 17 contests. Along the way, the Pelicans recorded statement victories over perennial powers Brunswick, Deerfield, and Malvern Prep. Their only setback came in late March against Salisbury, a loss they avenged with 14 straight wins to close the campaign.
Inside Lacrosse currently lists Loomis at No. 1 in its national high‑school rankings, underscoring a season defined by balanced scoring, strong faceoff play, and a defense that held 11 opponents to single digits. With the Founders League trophy now on campus, the 2025 squad has raised the standard for Pelican lacrosse and will enter the record book as the program’s benchmark team.
