What was your role in the play? I played Emily Webb in Our Town.
What made the play so fun/interesting? I enjoyed adding myself to the character of Emily, especially in such an iconic play that I believe still holds the same relevance as it did when it was written eighty years ago.
How was the play chosen? I don’t know the exact reason, but the fact that it was smaller than one of the mainstage productions allowed us to use the intimate space of the black box better.
What does the future of the Blackbox look like? I can’t speak for certain, but from what I have heard, the underclassmen will always be doing a fall play in the black box, while the upperclassmen will perform on the mainstage. There will also be student-written, directed, acted, and produced one acts in the spring and various student projects throughout the year.
What were some behind-the-scenes memories made in rehearsal? There were a lot of interesting discussions backstage, from inside jokes about the Chucky doll who we brought onstage as my brother, to makeup mishaps, to riddles, it was a lot of fun!
